Mitsouko is part of the Guerlain Légendaires fragrance collection. A collection of emblematic fragrances created over a century by five generations of perfumers. Legendary perfumes, completely innovative for their time, form a unique olfactory library, an unparalleled treasure that the House of Guerlain continues to nurture.
Jacques Guerlain decided to name his creation Mitsouko, in homage to the heroine of the novel "La Bataille," which was a huge success at the time of its publication. Mitsouko, a beautiful married Japanese woman, is secretly in love with a British officer. The Russo-Japanese War breaks out in 1905. Nobly controlling her feelings, Mitsouko awaits the outcome of the battle with dignity.
Jacques Guerlain's incredible idea, which gives this perfume its modernity, was to dare to combine Chypre with a fruity Peach note.
Designed by George Chevalier, the legendary "upside-down heart" bottle features the characteristic details and sinuous curves of Art Nouveau. A true technical feat, its avant-garde heart-shaped cap evokes the delicate romanticism of this perfumery icon.
